Find our fairies
Scattered around the park are two villages and 9 fairy doors to find. Some houses have their fairies safely nestled away cosily inside whilst others have fairies enjoying the village park, their gardens and playing with their pets. It’s a mystery how a fairy makes their home with choices from lighthouses, plant pots and windmills to traditional houses, mushrooms, castles and even a tomato!
Look closely, but please don’t touch, the longer you look the more you’ll see. You might even see some cheeky dragons along the way!
Interact with nature
Along the route are nature activities where you can create your own works of art on the weaving frame using fallen leaves, twigs, grasses, flowers and feathers (please remember not to pick anything as the creatures who make Smytham their home need them for their homes and food).
You can also explore the bug hotel to see which insects also enjoy a holiday here at Smytham Holiday Park. What can you see under the slates, amongst the twigs or in the bricks?
If you enjoy interacting with nature, why not also borrow a nature backpack completely free of charge, you can borrow a nature back pack for a couple of hours or even for the whole day. Inside there is a pair of binoculars, an insect capture pot, a compass, a magnifying glass and an information book. We have nature packs for children and for adults too!
Watch out as you walk around – you may find that some of the trees are watching you!
Collect your Nature Passport and answer questions such as "where are earth worms native to? Which is the most common bird? Can moorhens climb trees?". Complete each page of the Nature Passport and collect stamps from Reception.
Natures Passports are £1.00 per person. Our Fairy and Nature Trail has been enjoyed by all the family and by those both young and old(er)
