At Smytham Holiday Park, we are committed to keeping our pricing fair, transparent, and sustainable. To help manage rising energy costs responsibly, we are moving from our current “electricity included” tariff to a new Fair Usage Electricity Policy.
Why we’re making this change:
Introducing the Fair Usage Policy has allowed us to significantly reduce the pitch price increase for the 2026 season. Guests who use little or no electricity will now pay less overall, while those who use more will pay only for the energy they consume. This ensures a fairer approach for both our guests and the park.
Many holiday parks that have already moved to fair usage have found the change highly successful, and guests at those parks have reported that the system is clear, positive, and easy to manage. We understand that there has been some negative chatter online suggesting that parks are doing this “to make money”. To be clear, as regulated by Ofgem, parks are not permitted to profit from the resale of electricity.
Our aim is to create a fairer system:
What this means for you:
From the start of the 2026 season, each pitch booking—whether for tents, touring caravans, campervans, or motorhomes—will include an electricity allowance as part of your nightly rate.
Easy-to-use system:
Monitoring your electricity use is simple. You can track it directly from your smartphone, or, if you prefer, visit Reception, where our team will be happy to show you your current usage and answer any questions.
We believe this update will deliver a fairer, more transparent, and more environmentally minded approach for all our guests. Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue working to offer great value and a high-quality holiday experience.
We look forward to welcoming you to Smytham Holiday Park.
